Estructura del Presente Continuo

Sujeto Auxiliar (to be) Gerundio
I am walking, talking, reading, learning, doing,
He, She, It is walking, running, learning, doing,
You, We, They are listening, writing, learning, doing, running

 

Frases afirmativas

Sujeto + verbo auxiliar (“to be”) + gerundio (“-ing”)

Ejemplos:
  • Are you listening? (¿Estás escuchando?)
  • Is he eating? (¿Está comiendo?)

Frases negativas

Sujeto + verbo auxiliar (“to be”) + auxiliar negativo (“not”) + gerundio (“-ing”)
Ejemplos:
  • He’s not [He isn’t] eating. (No está comiendo.)
  • They’re not [They aren’t] learning. (No están aprendiendo.)

Frases interrogativas

Verbo auxiliar (“to be”) + sujeto + gerundio (“-ing”)?
Ejemplos:
  • Are you talking? (¿Estás hablando?)
  • Is he eating? (¿Está comiendo?)
  • Are they learning? (¿Están aprendiendo?)
