In a little village lived an old couple of bakers. They were moody people and always did things with bad manners. They were starting to feel fed up with waking up early every morning to cook bread for their neighbours and earn little money. So they complained all night and day to each other about not having anybody to help them.
One day a young woman knocked on the door and told them that she had been travelling for many years and she needed to rest for some time. The crafty old couple offered her a deal: she could live with them if she worked in the bakery. The young woman accepted and in addition she was terrific at making bread. Their reputation grew fast and many people came to buy their special bread.
The elderly couple seeing the opportunity wanted to earn more and so began to push the young woman to work ever harder. However she didn’t want to make more bread because she liked to make good ones. The couple felt furious and hurried the young woman with bad manners. One morning she wasn’t there. She had gone away and it was only the aftertaste of her bread that would be remembered.
